CAR AUDIO INSTALLATION

There are quite a few car audio systems currently on the market that are a great buy for vehicles. Sony MEX, Kenwood eXcelon, Pioneer DEH, Alpine CDE, and JVC Regular are 5 of the best rated brands of 2016. Just like with most installations, do-it-yourself options can be more cost effective. However, improper installation may not yield the results that you want in terms sound quality and usage. Therefore, it is best to rely on the experts when it comes to audio installation. Audio installation will not only enhance your listening pleasures but it also will enhance the value of your vehicle if properly installed. Another thing to consider is making sure that you have matched an audio system with your car type to provide the best sound quality.

There are different types of installation for you audio system. Once the mounting location has been selected, you’ll need to make sure you have the right size of speakers for your vehicle. Some will fit in the factory openings but others may need to be bracketed.

When installing speakers, the system will include woofers, tweeters and crossovers. Woofers will generally install into factory speaker locations but in most cases, the tweeters will need to be a custom install. This may involve drilling new holes in the dash or door panels. In some vehicles, the tweeters can be mounted on the sail panels.

The process will include replacing dash speakers and you’ll most likely just have to remove the grilles which are held down by screws or friction fittings. After that you’ll replace the door speakers. You won’t see many situations where the door speaker can be replaced by just pulling out the grille and changing the speaker. Most of the time you’ll see the grilles are mounted by screws or friction fittings and you’ll have to remove those. Next, you’ll be installing the rear speakers. The ease of doing so will really vary depending on the type of vehicle you’re working with. In some instances, all you’ll need to do is pry up the grilles and swap out your speakers. However, in other cases you’ll have to get into the trunk and disconnect them. You may even need to remove the back seat and possibly most of the rear trim. Most of this depends on the kind of car you have. Luckily at 1 Stop, we have the technicians to do the job for you so you don’t have to worry.
